Recreational Activities

To help children cope with traumatic situations resulting from natural disasters or experiences of violence, Together for Children Organization provides counseling as well as recreational and recovery activities. These activities aim to strengthen and promote the children’s physical and mental participation. According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and age-appropriate recreational activities, and to freely participate in cultural and artistic life.

An Event for Children with Cancer in Yemen – 2024:

On the occasion of World Children’s Day on November 20, 2024, an event for children with cancer was held at Al-Amal Hospital in the Taiz governorate in Yemen. The project included an entertainment trip to an amusement park, as well as an art festival featuring songs, competitions, drawings, and more. The program lasted an entire day. Lunch and gifts were distributed to the participating children.

In addition, gifts were also given to the children of cancer patients who had to remain in the hospital and could not join the trip. The project supported 32 children with cancer.

Recreational Trip and Gifts for Children with Cancer on the Occasion of World Children’s Day in Yemen – 2021:

November 20 is International Children’s Day. On this occasion, a recreational trip for children with cancer was organized on November 20, 2021, in the city of Taiz, Yemen.

The trip took the children to a leisure park and included an entertainment program and an art festival attended by well-known Yemeni actors such as Salah Al-Wafi and Samir Qahtan.

The entertainment activities included music and songs, competitions, comedy and theater performances, games, physical activities, talks, a meal, and gifts for the children with cancer.

This recreational event and open day were part of psychological support efforts aimed at bringing joy to the children and easing their suffering.

The event was attended by the General Director of the National Cancer Control Foundation, the President of the Al-Amal Cancer Center in Taiz, and several honorable guests.

Yemeni media outlets—including Al-Saeeda TV, Yemen Shabab Channel, and Al-Yaman Al-Youm TV—were also present to document the event.
