Wars, civil wars, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, fires, landslides, droughts, epidemics, poverty, famine… Millions of people around the world who have fallen victim to these causes are struggling to survive. Despite all this, the primary goal of emergency aid is to reach affected or persecuted people who are fighting for their lives.

The association “Together for Children in Need” aims to provide humanitarian assistance through emergency relief measures and to meet the essential needs of those affected by these events, for example, by providing food, medical supplies, alternative shelter, clothing, blankets, mattresses, and more.

Site visits to the flood-affected areas in western Germany in 2021:

A team from the aid organization “Together for Children Organization” (Zusammen für Kinder in Not e.V.) visited flood-affected areas in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate on August 11, 2021. They traveled to Sinzig in the Ahrweiler district to meet with affected families, assess their needs, explore ways to provide assistance, and distribute small gifts to children.

The team also visited the German Red Cross in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and the local donation center to learn about the needs of flood victims and explore ways to offer support.

Based on the information gathered during their visit, the organization determined that there is currently a sufficient supply of donated goods. However, there is still a great need for monetary donations, as the debris and damage from the floods still need to be cleared.

In this context, the aid organization “Together for Children in Need” A monetary donation was transferred to both the corresponding accounts of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The office of Rhineland-Palatinate’s Minister-President Malu Dreyer and the office of North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul thanked the association for these donations and its commitment via email.
